2 Confirmed Dead Many Burnt As Gas Explossion Rock Ogun State.

The neighbouring state of Ogun has yet recorded another sad gas explosion that claimed lives and properties onec more in Adigbe area in Abeokuta, Ogun State it was so disastrous that many wondered at the magnitude of damage done.

Two persons were confirmed dead on the spot while several others were injured.
The sad incident occurred in the morning today being Thursday 26th January 2017 and seven people were also injured. The explosion occurred at about 11:00 a.m. when a welder was carrying out a repair work at RAB Engineering Petrol Station in the area which is believed to have triggered the chain of events.

Apart from the casualties, the explosion also triggered a powerful raging fire which razed over seven makeshift shops, a motorcycle parked near the scene before the operatives of the state Fire Service could halt the spread and the attendant destruction.
The Ogun State Director of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Shakiru Adebakin, told journalists that the fire was caused by a man- made error that could have been averted if the owner of the filling station had adopted simple safety precaution. Adebakin said it was wrong to undertake welding activities in a petrol station without certain precautionary measures in place.
